NEW! Common Licensing Requirements for all provinces- except Quebec
1. Education –
Registered Nurse- Bachelor’s degree in nursing. some provinces may approve diploma nurses .
Registered/Licensed practical Nurse-Diploma in nursing
2. Language proficiency in English/French- IELTS/CELBAN or Test d’évaluation de français(TEF)
IELTS
Ontario- Overall -7 (S-7, w-7, R-6.5, L-7.5)
Other provinces – Overall - 7.5 (S, W-7.5, R-7, L-8)
CELBAN (Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses): S - 8, L – 10, R – 8, W – 7.
You can attempt 3 times.
3. Licensing examination
CRNE for RNs and CRPNE for RPN/LPNs. These exams conducts 3 times/year in Canada. You will have 3 attempts.
4. Proof of Canadian citizenship, Permanent Residency, or authorization under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada) to engage in the practice of nursing
Please note – you will not get license if you are in student or visitor visa particularly in Ontario
5. SEC assessment in most provinces
CNO may request an applicant to complete a Competency Based Assessment (CBA) to determine if the requirements for registration are met. This assessment provides an opportunity to nurses who received their nursing education outside of Canada to demonstrate their professional knowledge, skills and abilities. (looks like practical exams in India,but you may be video-graphed and scrutinised by 2-3 examiners) .ഒട്ടുമിക്ക IENs(pass rate is less than 10%) നും മിനിമം 6 മാസം പഠിക്കാന് പറയും ,അതിനു $3000-7000(if you have PR) ആകും.
6. Safe practice - you must have at least 1100 hours practice in last 3 years until start job as RN /RPN in Canada.(നിങ്ങള് അവസാനമായി ജോലി ചെയ്ത ദിവസം മുതല് കാനഡയില് നേഴ്സ് ആയി ജോലി തുടങ്ങുന്നതു വരെ 3 വര്ഷത്തില് കുടുതല് ഗാപ് പാടില്ല ).
7.Jurisprudence Examination in Ontario(coming soon to others)

Important നോട്ടീസ്:-ഇത് കോമണ് ആയിട്ടുള്ള Licensing requirements ആണ് ,ഇത് കൂടാതെ ഓരോ പ്രോവിന്സിനും അവരുടെതായ നിയമങ്ങള് വേറെയും ഉണ്ട് .
ഇനി student Visa യില് വന്നു രക്ഷപെടമെന്നാണോ ,2013 ജനുവരി മുതല് PR ഇല്ലാതെ license കിട്ടാന് ബുദ്ധി മുട്ടാണ്.

License Apply ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് മുന്പേ അതതു regulatory body യുടെ website നന്നായി റെഫര് ചെയ്യുക.
ഇതു College of nurses of Ontario യുടെയും Canadian Nurses of Association ന്റെ യും Rules അനുസരിച്ചാണ് എഴുതിയിട്ടുള്ളത് . ഇ പറഞ്ഞകാര്യങ്ങള് ഒരു agent ഉം പറഞ്ഞു തരില്ല .
ചുരുക്കി പറഞ്ഞാല് നേഴ്സ്മാര് ,ഇങ്ങോട്ട് വന്നാല് നന്നായി വിയര്ക്കും .
